About Hey Birds

We are a North Carolina family, born and raised in this state. We have lived all over it. These days we are in Cary, raising two girls of our own.

We know how a free day can get away from you. Something good is happening nearby, but it lives on another calendar, another site, another flyer. Finding it, and then planning the day, can be a lot. We wanted that to be easier.

Hey Birds started as a tool for our family and our friends. One place to see what was going on, and a little help deciding. It made our own plans simpler. Then we wanted other people to have it too.

So we opened it up. Hey Birds is a community events guide for Cary. We gather listings from local venues and calendars, and from the bigger sources people already use, and refresh the board twice a day. The Triangle switch reaches Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill when you want a wider day.

The board shows what is on. The concierge helps you choose. Tell it who is coming, which days work, how far you will drive, and what you like to do. It plans from that, and from the weather when you ask it to. Save the plan and share it with the people who are going.

The cardinal is the mark, the bird you see in a Cary yard. The rest of the flock shows up as you use it: a robin for morning plans, an owl for the late ones, a wren when the whole household has a profile.

Browsing is free. Pro is the concierge with you all month. Family is when everyone in the house gets a say.

We are a small business in the town we live in. If you are putting on an event, or you run a place people are trying to find, we want you on the board.

Cary is home, and our first city. We built the guide so the next town can have a flock of its own.
